To better understand the Universe, Physists and Mathmaticians needed to devise new geometries. To elaborate more, after finding space-time relationships by Einstein and finding spaces are curved where the matter is present, scientists needed non-euclidean geometries.
Hyperbolic geometry is one of them. And my work, elly1 was meant to curve the viewer’s sights by the movement of elly MAV(Micro Air Vehicle). So I needed a huge hyperbolic: 6m*7m
And for those who want to understand why we need different geometries, BBC open lecture for non-euclidean geometry is here.

me, nobumichi tosa (president of maywadenki), and hoyoung at P.Art.y, 2007, Seoul
I had a chance to talk to him after he saw my performance. It was great to talk about his useless product series and my idea of using electronics.
Go check what he’s doing-> www.maywadenki.com
And to see a group who are using electronics as social commentary,
check Design Noir group at RCA-> http://www.interaction.rca.ac.uk/
And to read a book on Design Noir and to see a review beforehand,
check book review that I wrote for Alice-on media art channel (in Korean)-> http://aliceon.tistory.com/250
